Music Modernization Act (MMA)

A major piece of U.S. music business legislation passed in 2018, the MMA is intended to improve the financial landscape for artists, songwriters, and publishers through updates to the regulations around royalties from online streaming services and other outlets. One major piece of the MMA was the creation of The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC).
