GLOSSARY
Mechanical Rights Organization (MRO)
A type of collection society that is responsible for the administration of mechanical licenses and, depending on the MRO, the collection and payout of mechanical royalties to publishers. Oftentimes, if a territory or country does not have a single CMO responsible for both performance and mechanical royalty collections, they split these responsibilities between a PRO and a MRO.
