Audio Home Recording Act of 1992 (AHRA)

An act passed by Congress that made it legal for consumers to copy records at home for private, non-commercial use without committing copyright infringement. This act also imposed a tax on the sale of digital audio recorders and blank media, which is passed along to music recording and music publishing rights holders.
