CDI x Songtrust Songwriting Showcase

About the Event

This spring, NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music teamed up with Songtrust to build a unique songwriting camp with a specific objective: To create vibrant new music collaborations, and then to give their finished work a public life.

Handpicked producers, writers, and artists came together for four days of collaboration, recording sessions, and panels with industry leaders. Then, on July 28th, the inaugural CDI x Songtrust Songwriting Showcase debuted five phenomenal new songwriting teams at New York City’s Bitter End. Equal parts showcase, reunion, and celebration, the night marked the first chapter of a camp dedicated to long-term creative partnerships and music’s next generation.

Los Angeles-based indie-pop artist and songwriter India Thieriot writes emotionally incisive songs that blur the line between intimate confession and cinematic storytelling. Her music has earned support from Spotify editorial playlists including Fresh Finds, All New Indie, and Next Gen Singer-Songwriters, while her songwriting has been featured in Hallmark’s The Chicken Sisters and Tubi’s How to Lose a Popularity Contest.

Known for pairing diaristic lyrics with expansive, nostalgic production, India explores themes of time, comparison, ambition, and the quiet anxieties of growing up. Whether writing for herself or collaborating with other artists, her songs are rooted in emotional specificity that resonates long after the first listen.

She is currently releasing a new body of work that continues to establish her as one of indie pop’s most compelling emerging storytellers.

Caleb Moore is an artist, songwriter, and producer from New York City. A multi-instrumentalist and film composer, aleb's music inhabits a groove focused, alternative-R&B space while his vocals and lyrics contrast in their vulnerability and sincerity. He cites artists including Tyler the Creator, Bon Iver, Rex Orange County, Lauryn Hill and Gustavo Santaolalla as inspirations, but this group only slightly hints at the scope of Caleb’s musical range. His palate is as organic and raw as it is contemporary and rhythmic. And despite his strong emphasis on the musical backdrop, what may come through most is his vocal honesty and insatiable desire for a good hook.

In April 2026, with the release of his debut album, Moore’s song “Up Now” was featured in Rolling Stones ‘Songs You Need to Know About'.
