Rights Administrator Entity (RAE)

RAEs (Rights Administration Entities) are another type of pay source that act similarly to CMOs, that collect and distribute performance and/or mechanical royalties. RAEs are for-profit organizations, so they can choose who they want to have as their members, and they do not need legal permission to operate as they are privately-owned companies, not government agencies. Examples include Music Reports (MRI) in the US or ICE Services in Europe.
